Prior Experience
|
Prior to consulting, he worked for USAA for 20 years, most recently as IT Architect, Enterprise Data Integration Strategy. In this position, he applied TIQM? information quality principles to USAA's information management, data architecture and data warehouse, including management processes, technical architectural direction, implementation, roll out, and migration as well as a change management plan. He also provided oversight in data standards, information policies, data definition and data modeling as well as guidance on data archeology, data discovery and data transformation management and control. At USAA he conceived and implemented an information stewardship program called "Data Certification."

Mr. Perez is a regular speaker at many conferences, including DAMA International, Information Quality, ZIFA (Zachman Information Framework Architecture), IAA (Insurance Application Architecture) Customer Conferences in the US and Europe and DAMA Chapter Conferences. His presentations encompass information resource management, including information quality management, data management, data integration, information stewardship and enterprise data architecture and data modeling. He is President Emeritus of the Heart of Texas DAMA Chapter, a member of the Board of Directors of the IAA Customer Group, and a representative to the Object Management Group.

Mr. Perez has a BS in Mechanical Engineering and Business Administration from the Universidad Autonoma de Nuevo Leon in Monterrey, Mexico and is fluent in both Spanish and English. He also has extensive training including technical training in data management, data modeling and data design, DBMS (DB2, Oracle), information quality, project management, enterprise architecture, decision support database design, professional facilitation, object-oriented systems, defining requirements and strategies for the development of complex systems, and structured design, and management training in supervision, business excellence, management, managing multiple priorities and leadership.
